REDEMPTION ANNOUNCEMENT 
 
 
11 SEPTEMBER 2009 
 
 
The Company announces that further to the Proposals put forward in the Circular 
filed on 2 June 2009 and approved at the Extraordinary General Meeting held on 
29 June 2009, the board of Directors have resolved to make the initial 
compulsory redemption of Shares at 15 September 2009. 
 
 
A total of 39,917,163 Shares will be redeemed, which represents 64.66 per cent. 
of the Shares eligible for redemption. This represents a figure that the 
Directors believe maximises the possible return to Shareholders, whilst also 
accounting for the future liabilities of the Company and its liquidity profile. 
 
 
Share certificates are expected to be despatched and transfer from escrow (TFE) 
instructions are expected to be issued for the 5.34 per cent. excess Shares 
placed into escrow by the close of business on 15 September 2009. 
 
 
The Net Asset Value Date for the calculation of the applicable percentage of 
shares to be redeemed is 31 August 2009. The 31 August 2009 Net Asset Value 
included the costs associated with the redemption, these costs are capped at 
GBP10,000. 
 
 
As previously announced on 28 August 2009, the Company's currency hedging 
program has ceased. After cash has been distributed to Shareholders via the 
compulsory redemption, the remaining invested assets of the Company are 
denominated in US Dollars, so Shareholders will be exposed not only to the 
investment performance of the invested assets but also to fluctuations in the US 
Dollar/Sterling exchange rate.
