Dmatek: Swedish In-Prison Monitoring expands;
Wins new tender for 3 more facilities
Dmatek Ltd. (LSE: DTK.L), the provider of leading electronic monitoring
technologies, today announces a contract win in Sweden, to provide the Swedish
Prison and Probation Service ("SPPS") three additional in-prison offender
monitoring systems. The order is valued at over $1.2 million. Additional
services over the next 5-7 years could double this amount. The contract was
awarded to Elmo-Tech, Dmatek's wholly owned subsidiary, which operates in the
corrections and law enforcement market.
The new inmate tracking systems (TRaCE) will be installed in three new open
prisons sites, separate and remote from each other. The facilities' tracking
data, will be monitored from a single monitoring centre, which will also monitor
a fourth facility, Kolmorden, where the TRaCE system has been operating since
2005. The expanded programme covers a total of 500 prisoners over 90,000 square
meters of prison grounds. There are over 200 prison facilities across
Scandinavia and over 1,400 in Western Europe.
SPPS Electronic Monitoring Project Manager, Kjell Carlsson stated: "Thanks to
Elmo-Tech's TRaCE system, we were able to bring down costs by 20% mainly due to
reallocation of staff resources. We find the system reliable and it insures the
surrounding community's piece of mind. We are very pleased with this result."
Dmatek's CEO, Yoav Reisman stated: "We are very pleased to see the success of
the TRaCE system in Sweden, and its current expansion from a single installation
to a network of four. We hope that this milestone contract in Sweden will lead
to other European countries realising the significant cost and security benefits
that TRaCE has to offer."
