Marks & Spencer Contract
Energy Asset Management Plc's, wholly owned subsidiary Energy Assets Limited -
providers of metering services to commercial and industrial energy users, is
delighted to announce the signing of a five-year agreement with Marks & Spencer
("M&S") for the provision of gas meter data logging services. The scope of
service includes provision, installation and commissioning of the data loggers
and the remote collection of half hourly consumption data.
Through the installation of Data-Loggers, Energy Assets Limited will provide M&S
with half hourly gas consumption data on a daily basis, thereby identifying
energy wastage and assisting in the improvement of cash forecasting by removing
estimated gas bills. The Directors of the Company anticipate that Energy Assets
Limited will have installed the technology in approximately 200 M&S stores by
the end of March, eventually leading to full UK installation for M&S including
their London head office.
The award of this contract to Energy Assets Limited follows the announcement of
M&S' five year `eco-plan', Plan A. The plan will see M&S reduce the amount of
energy it uses by 25%, making it more energy efficient, and powering its stores
with 'green' renewable energy.
Managing Director of Energy Asset Management, Alan McKeating, commented,
"Having announced a similar solution for Woolworths' electricity consumption
last month, M&S is the second major commercial customer that we have secured
this year. Our cost effective, flexible remote data solution allows detailed
energy management at either single or multiple locations, providing quick and
significant benefits.
The Data-Logger solution is attractive to Multi Site companies as even by
installing one unit in just one store it is proven that significant areas for
energy saving can be immediately identified - multiply this across a whole
network and you can achieve a very beneficial energy saving impact."
