Announcement of share option grant

The Company announces that options were granted on 16th January 2006 to Group
Finance Director, Stevan Fowler as follows:

34,091 options over ordinary shares of 5p each were granted under the European
Home Retail 1996 Executive Share Option Scheme and 329,545 options under the
European Home Retail 1996 Discretionary Share Option Scheme. The options are
exercisable from 16th January 2009 at a price of 88 pence per share.

These are the only options held by Stevan Fowler under both schemes.
