Gateway VCT plc ("the Company")

The Board of Gateway announces an update in relation to the Company's investment
in Burgundy Global Limited. ("BGL").

The Board of BGL have been seeking to dispose of its various assets and
businesses, but it had been unable to conclude the transactions with the parties
with whom it was in negotiation. This followed a period of sustained losses
within BGL and its various operating units and trading subsidiaries, and the
Board of BGL have now appointed an Administrator to BGL and its subsidiaries.
The Company consider that these events are likely to result in a significant
loss in relation to the carrying value of the investment as at 31 December 2006

The Company holds shares and loan notes in BGL. The Board of the Company are of
the view that the effect on the net asset value of the Company will equate to a
reduction of between 3.6p per share and 7.2p per share dependent on the amount
that may be recovered in respect of the loan.

The Board will report further on this investment within the audited annual
results of the Company for the year ended 31 March 2007, which will be announced
before the end of July 2007.
