Hartford  Group announces that it now expects to  make  a
loss  for the year ended 31 December 2000. Following  the
announcement  on  3  July, the  board  has  undertaken  a
strategic  review  which has led  to  major  cost-cutting
measures, both in relation to the trading sites and  head
office.  The board is continuing to explore a  number  of
opportunities currently available to the company.
