Admission to Trading


Further to the announcement made earlier today, 12 September 2002, that trading
on AIM for the existing issued share capital of Hartford Group plc ("Hartford"
or the "Company) has been cancelled, the Company announces that the enlarged
share capital of Hartford representing 534,978,960 ordinary shares of 1 pence
each has been admitted to trading on AIM today. The enlarged share capital
comprises 261,918,280 existing ordinary shares, 204,438,090 new ordinary
Hartford shares ("New Ordinary Shares") issued as consideration for Jamies Bars
PLC and 68,622,590 New Ordinary Shares issued in respect of the Placing and Open
Offer.

Terms defined in the Offer Document and the Prospectus dated 7 August 2002, have
the same meaning in this press release unless the context otherwise requires.
