Board Appointment


The Board of Hartford Group Plc is pleased to announce the appointment of
Christopher David Poil BA, AIMR as a non-executive director, with immediate
effect.


Christopher Poil, aged 39, has 14 years experience in the Investment Management
Industry.  Christopher was a Director of Mercury Asset Management and most
recently Head of UK Equities at ING Baring Asset Management.


His experience with smaller companies, the finance industry, and corporate
governance will be of significant benefit to the Board, as Hartford continues
its development into a profitable, drinks-led licensed retailer.


The directorships held by Christopher, over the five years preceding the date of
appointment, are as follows:

Previous : ING Baring Asset Management Ltd.


There are no other matters which are required to be announced pursuant to
paragraph (f) of Schedule 2 to the AIM Rules.



Commenting on the Board appointment, Stephen Thomas, Chairman of Hartford, said:

expertise he brings with him will assist in widening the opportunities for the
