HSBC Global Absolute Limited (the "Company") announces that on 17 September 2009 
the Company purchased 992,541 US Dollar Shares at a price of US$ 1.66 per US 
Dollar Share, 1,208,597 Sterling Hedged Shares at a price of GBP 0.84 per 
Sterling Hedged Share and 61,792 Euro Hedged Shares at a price of Euro 1.31 per 
Euro Hedged Share. 
 
 
Following this purchase: 
  *  992,541 of such US Dollar Shares will be held in treasury; 
  *  1,111,337 of such Sterling Hedged Shares will be held in treasury, and 97,260 of 
  such Sterling Hedged Shares will be cancelled; and 
  *  61,792 of such Euro Hedged Shares will be held in treasury. 
 
 
 
Immediately following the purchase the Company's issued share capital will 
consist of 35,585,291 US Dollar shares (excluding 3,554,971 treasury shares), 
11,124,493 Sterling Hedged shares (excluding 1,111,337 treasury shares), and 
9,412,874 Euro Hedged shares (excluding 141,792 treasury shares). 
 
 
Accordingly, the total number of voting rights in the Company is 56,122,658 and 
this figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations 
by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, 
or a change to their interest in the Company under the FSA's Disclosure and 
Transparency Rules.
