    LONDON SCOTTISH BANK plc ("London Scottish Bank" or "LSB")           

            DISPOSAL OF INVESTMENT IN CES HOLDINGS LIMITED ("CES")             

                                                                   

London Scottish Bank announces that it has sold its shareholding of 13,000 "A"
ordinary shares of �1 each in the capital of CES, an educational supplies
company, back to that company for a consideration of �550,000 paid in full on
completion.

The carrying value of LSB's investment in the CES shares, in LSB's consolidated
balance sheet at 31 October 2007, was �491,000.
