China Update 
 
 
30 September 2009: MDY Healthcare plc ("MDY Healthcare" or the "Company"), the 
strategic investor in healthcare companies, provides an update on investments 
and objectives within the Chinese healthcare market and the proposed China 
investment company. 
 
 
 
 
As announced with the Company's interim results in June, the Company has sought 
to implement an investment strategy to improve shareholder value through 
international investment opportunities, with a particular focus on Chinese 
healthcare. The Company has already announced plans to set up a new specialist 
investment company, together, where appropriate, with co-investing partners, to 
seek investment opportunities in mid-range medical devices and equipment 
companies in China. 
 
 
The Company has also sought opportunities in China where it can invest directly 
in healthcare businesses to maximise returns. In accordance with this strategy, 
the Company has made an investment for a nominal amount in CERT Limited, a newly 
formed company, which is in the process of setting up emergency medical training 
centres in China. Medical Consultants and Management Limited, a company in which 
David Wong, director, has an interest, is a shareholder in CERT Limited. 
 
 
Following the acquisition of assets from 3i Group plc in March of this year for 
a consideration combining loan notes, cash and newly issued MDY shares, the 
directors of the Company will continue to look at innovative corporate 
structures to execute the Company's investment strategy globally. A full update 
of the Company's investments and strategy will be made at the time of the 
announcement of the Company's preliminary results in December.
