                                 BOARD CHANGE                                  


The board announce that Ross Jones has today been appointed Non-executive
Director of the Company.

Stewart "Ross" Jones (also known as Andrew Stewart Ross Jones), (age 49)

Ross was educated at Ampleforth College and joined Gerrard and National Ltd in
1977. Mr Jones was appointed as a director of the Gerrard Group Plc in 1986
with responsible for running the trading in the UK Money and Gilt Edge Markets.
In 1993 he completed the International Executive Programme at INSEAD before
being appointed CEO of Gerrard & National Ltd. Mr Jones was the inaugural
Chairman of the London Money Market Association in 1996 and served on a number
of Bank of England, BBA and LSE Committees. Following Old Mutual PLC's purchase
of the Gerrard Group PLC in 2000, he was appointed CEO of GNI Fund Management
Ltd in 2001 before leaving in December 2003.Ross joined Athanor Capital
Partners Ltd as a director in 2004 before leaving to set up JTP Partners LLP, a
Hedge Fund of Fund specialist, in 2005. 

Mr Jones has served on various boards in a non-executive capacity including QPR
Holdings Ltd where he was non-executive chairman from 2002 to 2004.

Mr Jones has a wealth of board level experience in a variety of different
companies and will take an active part in new business development.

Mr Jones was a director of Loftus Road plc and its subsidiary, Queens Park
Rangers Football and Athletic Club Limited both of which were subject to an
administration order granted on 2 April 2001. Loftus Road plc and its
subsidiary were released from administration following the grant of a notice of
discharge of administration order on 27 May 2002.

Mr Jones is interested in 3,500,000 Newmarket shares representing approximately
1.4 per cent. of the issued share capital of the Company.
