                              Directorate Changes


SMC Group Plc (SMC.L), the architects and design business, is pleased to
announce that further to the announcement on 25 January 2008, Chris Littlemore
has taken up his role as Managing Director of SMC with effect from today. In
addition, Robert Boardman has taken up his role as Corporate Development
Director. SMC also announces that Caroline Godfrey, who was to take up the
position of Finance Director and Company Secretary, has decided not to proceed
with her appointment and has resigned from the Company with immediate effect.
Caroline's decision to withdraw from the role of Finance Director and Company
Secretary and leave the Group is related to her personal circumstances arising
from a family bereavement. The Board would like to thank Caroline for her valued
contribution to the Group and wishes her well for the future. Robert Boardman
will be acting as Finance Director and Company Secretary until a new appointment
is made.
