           Change to the Board of Thistle Hotels Plc ("the Company")

Following the announcement by BIL (UK) Limited on 1 May 2003 that its offer for
the Company had been declared unconditional in all respects the Company today
announces a further change to the composition of its Board of Directors.

  * Lau Wing Tat has resigned as a director with immediate effect.
