               Taiwan Investment Trust plc
                     ("the Company")
                            
The  Company  announced  on 23 June  1999  a  recommended
proposal  for  the winding up of the Company  and  merger
into  the Taiwan Portfolio of the Jupiter Tyndall  Global
Fund.

As  described  in the Company's circular to  Shareholders
dated   23  June  1999  ("the  Circular"),  the   Warrant
subscription price is subject to an adjustment based on a
formula  contained  in  the  Warrant  instrument.    This
formula includes the average middle market price  of  the
Warrants  for the ten dealing days ending on the  dealing
day  immediately  preceding the date of  the  adjustment.
Under  the  Proposals the date of adjustment will  be  26
July 1999.  In order to ensure the latest possible market
price is used in the Warrant adjustment formula, dealings
in  the Warrants will be suspended at 8.30 am on 26  July
1999,  rather than 8.30 am on 20 July 1999 as set out  in
the  Circular  and  as  a  result  the  Record  Date  for
Warrantholders  and the closing of the  Warrant  register
will  take place at 4.30 p.m. on 23 July 1999.   Dealings
in  the  Shares will be suspended at 8.30 am on  20  July
1999, as previously stated.

The  last day of dealing on the London Stock Exchange  in
the  Warrants for normal account settlement will be  16th
July  1999.  As from 19th July 1999, dealings  should  be
for  cash settlement only and will be registered only  if
documents  of  title  are  delivered  immediately.    The
Warrant  register will be closed at 4.30 pm on 23th  July
1999.   Transfers lodged with the Registrars before  that
time,   accompanied  by  documents  of  title,  will   be
registered  in the normal way.  Transfers received  after
that time will be returned to the persons lodging them.

Definitions  used in this press announcement  shall  have
the same meaning as set out in the Circular.
