The Board of United Energy plc announces that the disposal of AmBrit Energy
Corp.'s US oil and gas assets has been completed.  In accordance with the
completion mechanism described in the explanatory circular dated 6 May 1999,
an amount of approximately US$1.2 million is being held in escrow pending
final accounting adjustments to be settled on 1 September 1999.  US$1 million
of this relates to a working capital provision to be repaid at the final
accounting date and US$0.2 million relates to title defects on three
properties which the Board expects will be cured.
