COMPLETION OF RESTRUCTURING

The Directors of ZCI are pleased to announce that the restructuring of Konkola
Copper Mines PLC, as detailed in the circular to shareholders dated 23 August
2002 and which was approved by shareholders in the Special General Meeting held
on 10 September 2002, was completed yesterday. In addition, the transfer to the
Copperbelt Development Foundation and ZCI employee share trust of all the ZCI
shares formerly owned by the Anglo American plc Group, has also been effected.
