02 Mai 2011 - 10:34PM
FBR Capital Markets Corporation (Nasdaq:FBCM) ("FBR" or the
"Company"), a leading investment bank serving the middle market,
today reported that Mark Koontz has joined the firm effective
today. Mr. Koontz joins as a Managing Director in Credit Sales and
is based in the Company's Arlington, VA offices. Mark joins a team
of sixteen dedicated professionals in FBR's Credit Sales and
Trading group, which was launched in the summer of 2009. He had
spent the last nine years of his career in High Yield at Goldman
Sachs & Co.
"This is a great addition to FBR, as Mark has clearly been an
outstanding producer at one of the premier firms in this market,"
said Michael Lloyd, Senior Managing Director and Head of Credit,
Convertibles and Options. "High Yield is a critical area of
strategic focus and growth potential for the firm. Our team has
already distinguished itself in a short time, with significant
client reach in our Sales and Trading business, and good momentum
in our capital raising activities, as evidenced not only by our
frequent co-managed mandates, but also by our recent sole-led bank
loan transaction. We are confident that Mark's presence on the
Sales team will give us the additional market expertise,
client access, and innovative value-added perspective for our
clients."
After graduating from the University of Virginia with a
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Mark joined Goldman Sachs in 2002.
He worked in the High Yield Capital Markets group, until moving to
Leveraged Finance Sales in 2004. Mark quickly emerged as a top
performer among the 22 person sales team. He will report to Jerry
Connor, Head of High Yield Sales.
