Fisher Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: FSCI) announced today that its broadcast properties in Seattle and Portland have been awarded 10 Edward R. Murrow awards. KOMO-TV (ABC) and KOMO Newsradio, both in Seattle, won the coveted Overall Excellence awards. KOMO Newsradio and KATU-TV (ABC) in Portland were honored with Best Newscast awards.

KATU won the prestigious award for its 11pm newscast the night of the Clackamas Town Center shootings last December. In addition to Overall Excellence, KOMO-TV was recognized for Best Documentary, Breaking News Coverage and Investigative Journalism. This is the sixth straight year that KOMO has won the investigative award. KOMO Newsradio was honored with the Murrow awards for Breaking News and Continuing Coverage. The awards recognize excellence in coverage of both the deadly shooting at Café Racer last May and the shooting death of Washington State trooper Tony Radulescu.

KPLZ-FM, Fisher's music radio station in Seattle, won an Edward R. Murrow award for Best Documentary for Bras Across Lake Washington, an event designed to raise awareness for breast cancer.

Vice President and General Manager of Fisher's Seattle properties, Janene Drafs commented, "I'm incredibly proud of both the radio and TV news teams in Seattle.
