LRAD Corporation (NASDAQ: LRAD), a global leader in long range voice broadcast systems and advanced mass notification solutions, today announced the receipt of an order for Genasys public safety mass notification systems and software from a California city. The Company’s cloud-based Command and Control software will remotely activate and control the systems.

According to the report from the city’s staff that recommended the order, “Although there are many scenarios that LRAD could be helpful in resolving, we see the use of LRAD directed toward disaster communications. During wildland fire conflagrations and other dangerous incidents, a few individuals or several thousand people may be affected. LRAD systems are highly effective in communicating warnings, instructions, and notifications throughout incident sites and over vast areas during life-threatening events.”

“Our voice broadcast systems will include satellite connectivity and replace the sirens currently installed in five locations throughout the city,” commented Richard S. Danforth, Chief Executive Officer of LRAD Corporation. “The order includes annual maintenance and licensing fees.”

“LRAD’s Genasys systems are integrated with FEMA’s Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) and feature multiple activation and control methods to ensure critical information is delivered when power and communication infrastructure fails,” Danforth continued. “The catastrophic wildfires that devastated several California wildland-urban interface areas over the last two years underscore the necessity of having full-featured emergency warning systems that provide clear, audible and concise instructions to residents.”

The Company also announced $1.1 million in international and domestic Genasys orders, which includes the California city order, and commented on the recent rebranding of its mass notification business.

“With the recent completion and launch of our Command and Control software, which integrates and manages LRAD mass notification voice broadcast systems and Genasys mobile alert mass messaging SaaS solutions, we have rebranded the Company’s mass notification business under our Genasys brand,” stated Richard S. Danforth, Chief Executive Officer of LRAD Corporation. “The LRAD brand is known throughout the world and is well-suited for defense and law enforcement applications. Our Genasys brand better addresses the school and campus safety, emergency warning, and public safety markets, and better positions the Company’s mass notification business of hardware system sales and SaaS-based recurring revenue.”

Danforth concluded, “We are working several public safety opportunities that are expected to culminate in mass notification orders this year.”
