Amazon Pay and MakeMyTrip Ltd. subsidiary MakeMyTrip India said
they are in a long-term partnership to offer travel services on
Amazon.in, sending MakeMyTrip shares higher.
Shares of Indian travel group MakeMyTrip were up 7% to $33.99 in
morning trading.
The partnership will offer travel services including flights,
hotels and bus bookings to Amazon customers using MakeMyTrip.
MakeMyTrip said it will be able extend its distribution further
via Amazon Pay's customer base, especially in smaller cities and
towns and accelerate online booking of travel services across the
country.
MakeMyTrip earlier this month unveiled a partnership with
Hopper, a travel booking app for flights, hotels and car rentals,
to help travelers save money with personalized recommendations and
flexible booking capabilities.
