PHOENIX, July 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Radyne Corporation (NASDAQ:RADN) announced today that it has been added to the Russell 3000 index for the year beginning July 3, 2006. The Company also announced that it is included in the new NASDAQ Global Select Market. Additionally, Radyne Corporation will participate in the SEC's new interactive data reporting program for financial statement filings. Membership in the Russell index signifies that Radyne has achieved market capitalization requirements among the top 3000 stocks in America. Russell indexes are widely used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for both passive and active investment strategies. Investment managers who oversee these funds typically purchase shares of member stocks according to that company's weighting in the particular index. The NASDAQ Global Select Market has the highest initial listing standards of any exchange in the world based on financial and liquidity requirements. Prior to the change, Radyne had been listed on the NASDAQ National Market. Radyne is one of the first participants with a market capitalization of under $1 billion in the SEC's eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) Program. The SEC XBRL program will simultaneously enable the participant companies to determine the benefits of using interactive data, provide feedback to the Commission, and enable investors and analysts to assess new techniques for analyzing interactive data reports. "These three events reflect Radyne's growth and maturity as we emerge to become an increasingly attractive investment for individuals and institutions alike," said Bob Fitting, Radyne's CEO. "Radyne's selection by Russell and NASDAQ is further recognition that the strength of our business continues to provide returns to our shareholders."
