Summa Settles Patent Infringement Lawsuit TORRANCE, Calif., Feb. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Summa Industries announces that it has reached a confidential agreement with Grandlite International Corporation and its affiliates to settle the previously announced patent infringement lawsuit. In March 2003, Summa sued Grandlite for infringement of a patent and trade dress rights of its subsidiary, LexaLite International Corporation. Under the terms of the confidential settlement, Grandlite has acknowledged the validity of certain intellectual property of LexaLite and has agreed to purchase LexaLite Reflexors(R). The parties have also agreed to dismiss the underlying lawsuit. Summa Industries is pleased to have reached this agreement, and believes it will normalize its relationship with Grandlite. The Company takes the threat of knock-off products seriously and intends to pursue all appropriate steps to vigorously defend its intellectual property against any manufacturer, distributor or OEM which the Company believes is infringing such property.
