Virginia Commerce Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Steven A. Reeder as Executive Vice President of Retail Banking. Mr. Reeder most recently served as Senior Vice President and Retail Banking Manager for BB&T's branch network in Loudoun, Prince William, Stafford, and Spotsylvania counties. He served in a similar capacity with First Virginia Bank prior to its merger with BB&T, managing their 90-branch retail network in Northern Virginia. In his new role, Mr. Reeder will have direct responsibility for branch administration, retail lending, marketing, and investment services. "I am extremely excited about joining Virginia Commerce Bank," says Reeder. "It is a first class operation with a tremendous record of growth and profitability as well as a sound reputation for service excellence and community involvement. I look forward to assisting management in continuing the Bank's strong record of growth and performance." As the Bank is close to completing its accelerated branching strategy with five branches opened since August of 2004, the overall retail structure has been realigned to provide more operational and marketing support and to ensure VCB remains well-positioned for continued success. Effective July 1, 2005, the 18-branch network was divided into three new regions that support business development and customer service in the areas currently serviced by its commercial lending network. Promotions associated with this realignment include: Linda Martin, to Vice President/Regional Manager for VCB's East Region of five Alexandria branches; Kelly Bell, to Vice President/Regional Manager of the South Region of branches in Prince William and Fairfax counties; Denise Gillette to Branch Officer of the Cameron Station branch; and Carrie Bertauski to Branch Officer of the Lake Ridge branch. Two VCB officers have assumed new roles as Business Development Officers. Ricardo Balcells, Senior Vice President/Community Banking, has responsibility for much of Fairfax County and Jo Ann Bell, Senior Vice President/Community Banking, leads VCB's sales efforts for Prince William County. Peter A. Converse, President and CEO commented, "The Board and senior management view Steve's addition to our team as a significant step toward our next level of success. With our continued growth and market outreach, the new retail alignment will provide the structure needed to support such expansion." Headquartered in Arlington, Virginia Commerce Bank is a full-service community bank with over $1.3 billion in assets. VCB is consistently ranked at the top among all banks in the region for customer satisfaction. The Bank operates eighteen branches, two residential mortgage lending offices and an investment services office.
