White Electronic Designs Corp. (WEDC) is a defense electronics manufacturer and supplier that designs, develops and manufactures electronic components and systems for inclusion for the defense and aerospace markets. The Company's defense electronic solutions include semiconductor and multi-chip packaged components, circuit card assemblies and electromechanical assemblies, as well as the Company's process for incorporating anti-tamper protection to mission critical semiconductor components.

"For the first quarter of fiscal 2010, the Company's net sales were $15.6 million, a 17% increase when compared to $13.3 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2009.

"WEDC and Microsemi Corp. recently announced that Microsemi Corp will acquire WEDC through a cash tender offer at $7 per share for an aggregate value of $100 million, net of WEDC's projected cash balance at closing. Microsemi Corp. said it expects the acquisition to be $0.08 to $0.12 accretive in its full fiscal year 2011."
