ZAP celebrates Earth Day at Sonoma State University and other local
venues Environmentally and Socially Responsible Company Joins in
Earth Day Festivities SANTA ROSA, Calif., April 22
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ZAP (OTCBB:ZAPZ), pioneering the next
generation of advanced transportation and energy technologies, is
taking part in several local events to celebrate Earth Day.
Yesterday, ZAP attended an alternative fuel vehicle display and
Earth Day celebration at Agilent Technologies in Santa Rosa where
they showcased a Smart Car Americanized by ZAP. Today, ZAP will
display vehicles at an Earth Day event hosted by Sonoma State
University (SSU), in Rohnert Park, California. Tomorrow, ZAP will
showcase vehicles at an Earth Day event in Caspar, California. ZAP
is planning to participate in an Earth Day celebration on May 14 in
Sonoma, California. As part of its Earth Day activities, ZAP is
sponsoring a senior marketing project by SSU student Janelle
Morrison. Morrison helped organize the Earth Day presentation for
ZAP at SSU and is issuing a report on the State of the Earth Day
and handing out information to educate the public about the
environment and the importance of advanced technology vehicles like
those offered by ZAP. ZAP says rising gas prices have spurred an
increase in interest for battery-electric vehicles. While ZAP is
working to launch U.S. sales for the fuel-efficient gas-powered
Smart Car Americanized by ZAP, ZAP (http://www.zapworld.com/) is
one of the only places in the world that you can purchase an
electric scooter, electric bike, electric ATV or an electric car.
Anybody that purchases and electric vehicle from ZAP World
Headquarters or http://www.zapworld.com/ between April 22- April 25
will receive a Solar Powered Cooling Hat for free. "At ZAP, we love
what we do because we know we are making a difference for the
environment," said ZAP CEO Steve Schneider. "We try to make every
day an Earth Day, but we are doing our part this week to recognize
Earth Day and raise awareness about environmental issues. Thank you
to everyone doing their part and for sharing our vision of Zero Air
Pollution transportation." Schneider added that electric vehicles
(EVs) use no gas, and one of the best things you can do for the
environment is to buy, own and drive an EV. EVs produce no tailpipe
emissions and according to the Union of Concerned Scientists, they
can be up to 99 percent cleaner than conventional vehicles, even
when power-plant emissions are included. Electric power plants are
the only source of global-warming pollutants from EVs. If EVs
recharge using renewable energy sources like wind, solar, or
hydropower, they produce no global warming emission, and move
towards ZAP's goal of Zero Air Pollution. Even if EVs are recharged
using fossil fuels, they can cut global warming emissions by as
much as 70 percent. For more information about the Sonoma State
