DALLAS, Sept. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Belo Corp. (NYSE:
BLC) today announced full support of TVB's position on local Live
Plus Same Day ("L+SD") ratings data. As demonstrated in the
final 2012/2013 TV season data and most recently in the June and
July data (as reported by Nielsen), local L+SD ratings most closely
approximate today's national C3 data, and should be the minimum
ratings standard for local television viewing.
"For an industry that is eager to capture all the
impressions that are being accumulated on cross-platform devices,
we need to first accept that time-shifting on the primary viewing
device, television, plays a key role in how local viewing is done
today," said Peter L. Diaz,
Belo's president Media Operations. "Live Plus Same Day
measurement begins to reflect how the modern television audience
watches. Live Only is no longer representative of today's TV
viewing levels and consumption."
