Young is only the second, three-time winner since the award's inception ATLANTA, Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Vince Young is quickly running out of space on his trophy shelf. For the third time this season, the University of Texas quarterback has been selected by fans as the Cingular Wireless/ABC Sports All-America Player of the Week, the only major college football honor determined exclusively by fans. Young won this week's award in a landslide, garnering 49% of fan voting after passing for 239 yards and two touchdowns and rushing for 267 yards - setting a school record for a quarterback - and two touchdowns in the Longhorns' 47-28 win over Oklahoma State Saturday. He is only the second player in the history of the award to win it three times in one season; the first was University of Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson. Young was one of four candidates for the All-America Player of the Week, who are selected by a panel of ABC Sports and ESPN college football analysts. The other finalists were: Iowa State wide receiver Todd Blythe (30%), USC wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett (11%) and Wisconsin running back Brian Calhoun (10%).
