ORLANDO, Fla., June 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Cingular Wireless has expanded coverage in southern Taylor County with the activation of a new cell site in Steinhatchee. The site is providing coverage in town and along State Highways 361, 358 and 51. The new Steinhatchee cell site is one of 40 new sites to be turned on this year in North, Central and West Florida by the nation's largest wireless carrier. The sites, along with the recent completion of the integration of the AT&T Wireless and Cingular networks throughout North, Central and West Florida, are part of a $370 million network investment statewide. Network integration in South Florida will be completed this summer. Cingular also plans to roll out its third-generation (3G) high-speed broadband wireless network this summer.
