Ongoing Network Investment Enhances Customers' Wireless Service JACKSON, Miss., Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Cingular Wireless continues to strengthen and expand its voice and data network across Mississippi with the addition of 30 new cell sites across the southern part of the state over the past 60 days. These new cell sites have increased wireless coverage and system capacity for customers in several smaller communities. Counties with new cell sites include: Lincoln, Copiah, Amite, Marion, Franklin, Wilkinson, Wayne, Jones, Perry, George, Forrest and Pearl River. The expansion is part of the nearly $90 million network investment in Mississippi this year. So far this year, Cingular has activated more than 77 new cell sites in the state. "Our customers want and expect high-quality wireless service, and we are working hard to bring advanced communications to consumers that live and travel through the outlying communities across this great state," said Scott Besselievre, director of sales for Cingular's Central/North Mississippi markets. "Whether you are surfing the net, holding a conference call, viewing the weather or instant messaging a friend, it all comes back to the strength of the network and Cingular is aggressively expanding and enhancing its network to boost system-wide coverage and performance."
