Switching To Cingular Is Just a Click Away Consumers Can Rollover
to Cingular Service via Internet on Nov. 24 ATLANTA, Nov. 20
/PRNewswire/ -- Cingular Wireless, as part of its ongoing
commitment to making number portability simple for customers, will
let consumers establish service while keeping their existing phone
number by signing up through http://www.cingular.com/ beginning on
Monday, Nov. 24. "There's no need to stand in line to switch to
Cingular," said Steve Gray, Vice President of Affiliate and E-Store
Sales. "Customers can use the simplicity and speed of the internet
to sign up with Cingular and keep their existing number." Signing
up via the Cingular Wireless website gets underway on Monday, Nov.
24 as Wireless Local Number Portability (WLNP) officially launches
in the largest 100 metropolitan areas in the United States.
Prospective customers need only enter the necessary information,
select a rate plan and wireless phone, and Cingular will then
process and verify the information, and ship their new handset with
activation instructions. "Cingular is the only U.S. carrier to
allow customers to keep their number and their minutes," added
Gray. "With Rollover(TM), Cingular customers can keep their unused
minutes from one month to the next." Cingular is offering customers
500 bonus Rollover(TM) minutes when they sign a two-year contract.
Cingular is also offering a wealth of information on the
portability process at http://www.cingular.com/, including the A-Z
of WLNP - a consumer "tip sheet" on Wireless Local Number
Portability. Cingular is the only domestic wireless carrier to
offer Rollover(TM), which allows you to keep your unused anytime
minutes from month to month; and FastForward(TM), a device that
lets you forward your wireless incoming calls to your home or
office phone. Cingular also offers a variety of local, regional and
national rate plans, as well as Family Talk(R). ABOUT CINGULAR
