Cingular Gives New England Customers the "Star" Treatment With New *Services Product Free Service Provides Fast and Easy Access to Important Account Information, Directly From the Handset WESTWOOD, Mass., April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Cingular Wireless announced the launch of *Services (pronounced "star services"), a new option that essentially puts management of personal account information in the hands of its wireless customers in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire. *Services are designed to give Cingular's New England customers a quick and easy way to access and manage their account right from their wireless phone. By simply dialing a three digit "star code," Cingular customers can have their account balance and remaining minutes delivered to their handset by text message. Customers may also make bill payments using an interactive voice response (IVR) feature. The star codes are: *BAL# (*225#) to receive an update on outstanding balance *MIN# (*646#) to receive an update on remaining minutes *PAY (*729) to use the IVR feature to make a payment *Services are available free to all Cingular consumer customers with monthly payment plans and text-messaging capable wireless phones.
