Cingular Wireless Salutes Customer Service 'Stars' Cingular Effort
Part of National Customer Service Week to Honor Hard-Working Call
Center Professionals DALLAS, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- It's
celebration time at Cingular Wireless' Dallas call center! The call
center is observing National Customer Service Week, October 4-8,
with recognition events, and a special spotlight on its top "star"
performers. The 775 representatives at the Dallas call center
handle a wide range of customer issues, such as billing or
equipment issues, or questions about coverage. "Our customer
service employees work hard all year to provide the best possible
experience for our customers," said Tammy Patterson, Cingular's
call center director. "Nationwide, our call center employees handle
hundreds of thousands of customer calls a day. That's an
unbelievable number, and requires a true professional to ensure we
provide quality customer service with each customer, on every call.
"This week we salute all our employees for their commitment and
dedication to these goals. We have great performers throughout our
call center. Unfortunately, we simply can't recognize them all
individually, so we want to highlight our 'stars,' those whose
exemplary, consistent customer service continually raise the bar
for us all." Top employees who received the "star" recognition for
2004 here in Dallas include Donna Booker, Denice Brown, Nyasha
Chisango, Christy Edwards, Harriet King, Sharon Marshall, Bob
Njerenga, Laquita Rogers, Laquinda Tolbert and Mirian Ventura. The
call center has planned a number of fun events around the National
Customer Service Week observance. Every employee will receive a
small gift in addition to other activities, which include bingo
games during the afternoon with prizes for each winner and a
"Sports Day," where employees can participate in a variety of games
including a basketball shoot, hula hoop contest, bean bag toss,
golf putt and horse shoes. Managers will valet park cars for all
employees on Thursday, and there will be a pizza party for all
employees to finish off the week. National Customer Service Week
was begun by the International Customer Service Association in 1988
and is held annually the first week of October. The U.S. Congress
