Benson has been selected as a Cingular Wireless/ABC Sports
All-America Player of the Week finalist for the first time this
season. Benson rushed for 142 yards and a school-tying record five
touchdowns in the Longhorns' 56-35 come-from-behind win against No.

birth. The Big XII has already had two Cingular Wireless/ABC Sports
All-America Player of the Week winners this season: Texas Tech
quarterback Sonny Cumbie and Oklahoma running back Adrian Peterson
(twice). Benson is one of four candidates for the All-America
Player of the Week, who are selected by a panel of ABC Sports and
ESPN college football analysts, led by John Saunders. The other
finalists are: Ohio State wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr., who scored
three touchdowns on a run, reception and punt return, in the
Buckeyes' 32-19 win at Michigan State; Virginia Tech running back
Mike Imoh, who totaled 236 yards on the ground and two touchdowns
in the Hokies' 27-24 at North Carolina; and Oklahoma quarterback
Jason White, who threw for 292 yards and five touchdowns in the
Sooners' 45-38 win at Texas A&M. Who will be this week's winner
is still undecided and the final decision now rests in the hands of
college football fans nationwide. For the first time in college
