Altice NV named a new chief executive in a management shuffle that focuses resources on integrating its $10 billion acquisition of Cablevision Systems Corp.

The European telecom operator said Michel Combes, its chief operating officer, would be promoted to the role of CEO. He succeeds Dexter Goei who was named CEO of Altice's U.S. business and chairman of Altice NV.

The company Monday also said that founder and controlling shareholder Patrick Drahi would step down from his position as chairman to lead a new advisory council that will set out the strategic, operational and technological agenda for the company.
