FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- DaimlerChrysler Financial Services Americas, the vehicle financing division of DaimlerChrysler AG (NYSE:DCX), and Habitat for Humanity, the international partnership which recognizes the housing needs of low income families, teamed up today to work on three construction sites throughout Metro Detroit. "This is a first for us," said Steve Campbell, Executive Director of Oakland County Habitat for Humanity. "We have never had a corporate partner who could provide enough employees and support to enable three sites to be worked on in the Metro Detroit tri-county area at the same time, on the same day. This is truly a collaborative effort among our local agencies of Habitat for Humanity and DaimlerChrysler Financial Services." Approximately 150 employees from DaimlerChrysler Financial Services Americas' Information Technology Management team, and families designated by Habitat for Humanity, worked on constructions sites in Detroit, Pontiac and Roseville. In Detroit, in the 4200 block of Maryland Avenue, near the intersection of Outer Drive East and Harper, crews worked on insulating homes and building garages. In Pontiac, at two sites on Central and on Ferry, near the intersection of South Boulevard and Woodward, crews put in the "decking" over the foundations of two homes which will serve as the first floors of both homes. In Roseville, on Oakdale, near the intersection of 10 Mile and Gratiot, crews erected sheds for outside storage. Led by Vice President Jan Brecht, DaimlerChrysler Financial Services Americas employees split up into teams of 50 to work at each job site. "We live by a set of core values including integrity, social responsibility and a commitment to excellence," Brecht said. "We are fortunate to have Habitat for Humanity in our community and we support their commitment to providing for those in need. Today has been a great experience for our employees because it is remarkable to see what can be accomplished by bringing together our employees with community members committed to the same goal."
