Avery Dennison Healthcare Provider Solutions, a business of
Avery Dennison Corporation (AVY)has joined with
Trimble Navigation Limited (TRMB) for delivering
ThingMagic powered passive RFID solutions to hospitals.
The systems of Avery Dennison Healthcare Provider include radio
frequency identification (RFID) readers, best-in-class application
software, RFID tags and implementation and process-improvement
support that both ameliorate patient safety and reduce costs.
ThingMagic Mercury6 and Astra UHF RFID readers can avail the
systems and provide customers with a choice of form factors across
diverse hospital environments. Alongside, it enables the hospitals
to select any particular area and expand based on resources and
critical needs.
The area of efficiency of the systems include real time asset as
well as personal identification and location, asset and personnel
history, zone and area contents, zone and area history,
notifications and alerts, in addition to integration with
computerized maintenance management (CMMS), accounting and
enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
For the benefit of patient care, the company employs Lean and
Six Sigma expertise - a holistic approach involving tracking a
wide-range of objects (including equipment, consumables, specimens
and documents) and people (patient and employees) moving through
the hospital, maximizes the benefits.
Avery Dennison Healthcare Provider Solutions is a business group
of Avery Dennison Corporation. It deals with patient safety and
satisfaction and reduces costs and waste. Its product range

Based in Sunnyvale, California, Trimble Navigation, Ltd. is an

In the recently reported fourth quarter of 2011, Avery’s
adjusted EPS dipped to 36 cents compared to 83 cents in the prior
year quarter. Total revenue also declined 0.5% year over year to
$1.45 million in the quarter. The company experienced unexpected
declines in volumes in fiscal 2011.
Currently the shares of Avery Dennison retain a Zacks #5 Rank
(short-term “Strong Sell” recommendation). It competes with
Bemis Corporation Inc. (BMS) and Fortune
Brands Inc. (FO).
Based in Pasadena, California, Avery Dennison Corporation
produces pressure-sensitive materials, office products and a
variety of tickets, tags, labels and other converted products. Its
products are sold under the Avery, Avery Dennison, Avery Graphics
and Fasson brands. Its clientele is spread across the U.S., Europe,
Asia, Latin America and other regions.
