LONDON--Natural gas company BG Group PLC (BG.LN) Tuesday said it
has agreed to sell two liquefied natural gas carriers to GasLog
Ltd., the owner of a fleet of ships for transporting gas, for $460
million.
BG will charter back the two vessels, it said.
"The transactions provide BG Group with flexibility in managing
its future fleet requirements and, as the ships are currently
managed by GasLog, leave day-to-day operations broadly unchanged,"
BG said.
Most of the proceeds from the sale will be used to fund pension
arrangements, with $100 million to be used to reduce debt, the
company said.
Shares at 1146 GMT were down 8 pence, or 0.9%, at 878 pence,
valuing the company at GBP30 billion.
