Vedanta Resources: Tribunal has Allowed Tuticorin Smelter Restart

LONDON--Vedanta Resources PLC (VED.LN), a diversified natural
resources company, Friday said The National Green Tribunal (NGT)
has allowed the Tuticorin Copper Smelter of Sterlite Industries
(500900.BY) to recommence production.
MAIN FACTS:
-NGT has laid down certain conditions.
-Will work closely with the regulatory authorities and expect to
resume production in one week.
-Shares at 1322 GMT down 19 pence, or 1.5%, at 1285 pence.
