MOSCOW--The privatization of Russia's state-owned telecommunications company Rostelecom (RTKM.RS) isn't going to happen until the merger with Svyazinvest is completed, Rostelecom's chief executive, Alexander Provotorov, said during a conference call Friday.

"The second issue is that I don't think that the government is going to sell anything big until the market conditions improve," he also said.
