BRUSSELS—The president of the Eurogroup of eurozone finance ministers has received new overhaul proposals from Greece, his spokesman said Thursday.

"New Greek proposals received by Eurogroup president (Jeroen Dijsselbloem), important for institutions to consider these in their assessment," the spokesman, Michel Reijns, said in a message from his Twitter account.

That means the proposals arrived well in advance of a midnight deadline set by other eurozone countries.

The content of the proposals will determine whether Greece gets a new three-year bailout and can secure its place in Europe's currency union.
