Intermec Technologies Corp. has created an Intermec Global Service Partner Network and now provides two-day and five-day repair services in 72 countries. The new service network allows Intermec customers to take advantage of fast, convenient, Intermec-certified repair service from in-country service providers, complementing Intermec's own worldwide service depots. In-country service eliminates the need to ship equipment to external depots for service and warranty work. This provides faster turnaround, improved equipment availability, and reduces customs hassles, freight and duty charges. Customers with Intermec service contracts, called Medallion(TM) Service Agreements, are now offered the convenience of a single contract to cover service management worldwide. Customers receive the same level of Medallion service around the world from either certified partner providers or Intermec service centers. Partners qualify for the certified service provider network by completing extensive training, demonstrating diagnostic and repair competency at the same level as Intermec technicians, meeting Intermec-specified service level agreements and committing to stocking Intermec parts to ensure rapid repairs. ARAMEX, a provider of global transportation solutions in the Middle East and South Asia, considers Intermec's commitment to service an asset to its operations. "Intermec's in-country service capabilities were key to winning our business," said ARAMEX Chief Technology Architect Samer Awajan. "ARAMEX relies on the value and quick turnaround Intermec service provides, both domestically and abroad." The addition of certified Intermec Global Service Partners raises the number of Intermec service centers from 18 to more than 80. Intermec has significantly expanded its services capabilities in Asia, Latin America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. It plans to further expand its global service network and is assessing additional partners in countries currently without service coverage. "Customers are demanding responsive, real-time local service for their mission-critical ADC systems and Intermec is responding," said Intermec Chief Operating Officer Steve Winter. "Customers can take advantage of the convenience of a local partner with the assurance they'll receive the same high level of service and expertise they've come to expect from Intermec."
