Border Petroleum Announces Appointment of Officer

Border Petroleum Corp. ("Border" or the "Corporation") (TSX VENTURE:BOR) is
pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Fridrich, P.Geol., as Vice
President, Exploration of the Corporation. He was previously the Senior
Geologist, NW Alberta District, with Penn West Exploration prior to being
appointed Senior Geologist and then GeoScience Team Lead of Penn West's Peace
River Oil Partnership. Prior to joining Penn West, Mr. Fridrich served as a
Senior Geologist at Royal Dutch Shell and a Team Lead at Shell Canada Limited.
Mr. Fridrich has over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, the
majority of which has been earned in senior management positions.


Kelly Kimbley, President & CEO of Border, stated: "I am very pleased to welcome
Pete Fridrich to the Border team. Mr. Fridrich has played a key role in
advancing the development of the Slave Point play in the Red Earth area and has
a great deal of experience drilling technical horizontal wells. Mr. Fridrich's
contribution will enhance our efforts with respect to the anticipated
commencement of our Slave Point horizontal drilling and multi-stage frac program
at Red Earth this quarter."


The Corporation also announces the resignation of David Tian as Vice President,
Exploration of the Corporation. The board of directors of the Corporation wish
to thank Mr. Tian for his services and wish him every success in his future
endeavours.
