IBX International Barytex Resources Com Npv

INTERNATIONAL BARYTEX RESOURCES LTD. (the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:IBX) is
pleased to provide an update on the Shituru project located near the town of
Likasi in Katanga Province in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).


The Shituru Mining Corporation (SMCO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding
(MOU) with Societe Nationale Electricite Limited (SNEL) for the supply of 30
Megawatts of power to the processing facility being planned in the Feasibility
Study being carried out. SMCO is the corporate entity created under the mining
contract agreement between Gecamines and ECCH, a subsidiary of IBX.


With signing of the MOU, SMCO and SNEL will commence negotiations on
improvements to be made to the national electrical system as part of the Shituru
Project. The cost of these improvements are repaid to the project as a rebate on
the monthly electricity charges during operation.


On completion of these negotiations SMCO and SNEL will enter into a supply
agreement to provide electricity for construction and operations.


President Leo King states, "We are pleased to report the signing of the MOU on
electricity supply. It is an important milestone for Shituru and marks real
progress on an important aspect of the Feasibility Study which is currently

are reached."
