Stroud Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:SDR) ("Stroud" or the "Company") is pleased
to announce that, subject to regulatory approval, Kerry D. Smith, P. Eng, MBA
has been appointed to the board of directors of the Company joining George
Coburn and Lonnie Kirsh on the board.


Kerry is a professional engineer, with more than 30 years of experience in
strategic leadership, financing and operational aspects of mining projects and
currently serves as President of Strike Minerals Inc., President and CEO of HMZ
Metals Inc. and Chairman of the Board of Southeast Asia Mining Corp., all public
mineral exploration and development companies.


George Coburn, President of Stroud commented: "We are very pleased with Kerry's
decision to join the Stroud board and believe that the skill set he brings will
be a valuable addition and assist the company in financing and advancing its
projects."


Stroud is a debt-free exploration company focused on the discovery and
exploration of silver and gold deposits in Mexico and Ontario. Stroud owns a
100% interest in the Santo Domingo epithermal silver-gold project in central
Mexico. In addition to the Santo Domingo project, Stroud also owns a 100%
interest in the Hislop gold property, near Timmins, Ontario and the Leckie gold
property, near North Bay, Ontario. Stroud also generates cash flow from a 3.75%
interest in six natural gas, and natural gas condensate wells in central
Alberta.
