NEW YORK, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Diamond Discoveries International Corp.(OTCBB:DMDD), a U.S. company focusing on diamonds, precious and base metal exploration in the province of Quebec, is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, Platinum Discoveries Corp., has received preliminary results from the exploration work done in 2008 field season, on their Caribou Property near Thetford Mines. The results have confirmed the presence of high chromium (Cr2O3) mineralization in pyroxenite unit over several metres. Six (6) samples from the American Chrome Junior showing returned high chromium values with composite assays of 10.72% Cr2O3 over 5 metres and .4 g/t PGE (Platinum, Palladium and Rhodium). This composite includes 1 metre grading 21.47% of Cr2O3 and .5 g/t PGE. Diamond Discoveries has undertaken channel sampling (1 metre wide) on two other showings (Finneth and Cesar) and on new trenches. Six (6) samples from the Finneth Showing returned 3% Cr2O3 over 6 metres with an average of .1 g/t PGE. One isolated sample on the same showing graded 7% Cr2O3 over 1 metre. The pyroxenite rock, that hosts main mineralized zones, is part of the Thetford Mine ophiolitic complex which is well known for its chromium potential. Following the results from the channel sampling further work will be done on these zones. All results will be released shortly after receiving final certificate from the ALS Laboratory Group from Val d'Or Quebec.
