The RECs, which will be Green-e® Energy Certified, are targeted
to match the electricity consumed during the two-day expo, which is
being held March 7-8 at the
Atlantic City Convention Center in
Atlantic City, N.J. A Green-e®
Certified REC represents the environmental attributes of
electricity generated from wind, solar, or other renewable
generation facilities that meet certain vintage and production
standards.
Organizations may use RECs to offset their indirect greenhouse
gas emissions and help support the operation and development of
domestic sources of clean, renewable energy. The RECs that GDF SUEZ
Energy Resources will provide will displace an estimated 171,740
pounds of carbon dioxide, the equivalent of taking 15 cars off the
road for a year.
"We're proud to continue our support of the Association of
Energy Engineers and its commitment to clean energy," said
David Coffman, V.P. of Marketing for
GDF SUEZ Energy Resources. "This is an opportunity to further
cement our relationship with AEE and Globalcon and to demonstrate
that we share its dedication to pursuing environmentally
responsible policies that promote the use of renewables."
Globalcon 2012 is aimed at decision-makers from business,
industry, and government who are seeking energy solutions that
assure a safe, secure power supply and effective management of
costs. Attendees can visit the GDF SUEZ Energy Resources booth, No.
515, to see how the company can assist them with those concerns,
including strategies for mitigating commodity market risks,
managing demand and consumption, and maximizing the opportunities
of a competitive energy marketplace.
"AEE believes strongly that sustainable practices are vital to
businesses and energy decision-makers across the country," said AEE
Executive Director Albert Thumann.
"We are very appreciative that GDF SUEZ Energy Resources, a true
leader in sustainability and renewable energy, is helping us spread
that message through its ongoing support of Globalcon."
