In current modern solar energy apparatus, heat energy is considered a negative resultant byproduct of solar energy generation, and must be dissipated in order for the mechanism to operate most efficiently. Oftentimes this heat energy can equal to 3 to 4 times the energy derived from the solar cell itself; or 3-watts equivalent of heat, to 1-watt equivalent of solar generated electrical power.

The pressure chamber(s) of the MyCroft Fuel Cell operate via mechanical pressure or heat, and the HEC system is envisioned to be an adjunct technology alongside standard or customized solar cell arrays, to enhance and increase overall efficiency tremendously. Calculations show a potential doubling of the resultant electrical output of solar arrays when combined with the MyCroft HEC system.
