LONDON--Retailer Halfords Group PLC (HFD.LN) said Thursday that Chief Executive Officer Matt Davies has resigned to take up a position at supermarket chain Tesco PLC (TSCO.LN).

Mr. Davies will remain with the bike and leisure products company until the end of May. He will become the new chief executive officer of the U.K. and Ireland region at Tesco.

At 0802 GMT, shares of Halfords were trading 3.1% lower at 448 pence each.
