LISLE, Ill., June 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- KONE, a global
leader in the elevator and escalator industry, today announced the
launch of a new turnstile solution that will improve security,
guidance, and convenience in buildings of all kinds. This next
generation turnstile enables full integration of the KONE People
Flow Intelligence solutions from the building lobby area to a
user's final destination. KONE turnstile 100 is designed by KONE
design team professionals and comes with a range of intuitive
guidance and security options that make it easier for users to move
through the building.
KONE will present its new turnstile solution at the American
Institute of Architects Convention in Chicago, June 26 to
June 28.
With ever-increasing levels of urbanization around the world,
there is strong pressure to make cities – and the buildings within
them – work smarter. The KONE People Flow Intelligence suite of
solutions, designed to guide people effectively and smoothly from
front entrance to desired destination while simultaneously
improving building security, was launched to address this need. The
new turnstile offering completes this set of innovations, and makes
it easier for customers to order all their People Flow solutions
from one provider.
KONE turnstile 100 sets a new standard for access gate
usability, flexibility, and visual appearance. The product is
designed for a number of different buildings, such as modern office
buildings and airports, where smooth people flow, robust access
control, and inspiring visual design are important requirements.
Constructed from durable, high-quality steel and glass, the
turnstile solution includes stylish lighting options as well as a
range of intuitive visual guidance options.
"Our new turnstile solution strengthens our capabilities in
managing people flow in the building entrance and lobby area," says
Larry Wash, EVP and Area Director
for KONE Americas. "With the KONE turnstile 100, we are not only
making building management easier and more efficient, we are also
providing building owners with a solution that adds real value to
the property, creates a lasting first impression on visitors, and
is visually consistent with our elevator signalization."
"In order to make buildings as smart as possible, early people
flow planning and engineering is crucial," Wash said. "With our
comprehensive offering, we can now architect the people flow in the
whole lobby area, not just around elevators and escalators.
Ideally, this should be done early in the construction planning and
engineering phase."
The new range of turnstiles is completed by two further
solutions. One of them is KONE turnstile 50 that provides
contactless access in busy environments, such as transit centers
and multifunctional buildings. The other is KONE turnstile 30, a
versatile and energy-efficient entrance solution for buildings with
very high user traffic levels and where durability and easy
operation are key requirements.
